One of my first web projects was a responsive homepage that let users create their own grid of tiles. The grid was easy to navigate with only a keyboard and the search at the bottom live filtered the tiles by title/description. I built a backend service that let users login and store their configurations so the site would work across multiple devices. Tiles had multiple form inputs for themes, folders and bookmarks and had a bunch of settings for customization.
The projected ended with 40 stars and 10 forks. The server backend had many users and I received lots of positive feedback. Eventually browser homepages became less interesting to me and I stopped working on this project.
